FandomMobile

FandomMobile is the mobile friendly skin for Fandom. It was created in 2021 and replaces Mercury, the previous mobile skin.

To see this skin on a computer, add ?useskin=fandommobile to the end of the URL or click View mobile site at the bottom. To switch back to the desktop view, click View full site at the bottom.

Features

Responsive main page

• The main page only shows the content of MediaWiki:Wiki-description-site-meta, trending/popular pages and categories. To view the regular main page on mobile, expand the View full main page section.
• The navigation can be shown by clicking the menu icon on the top next to the Discussions icon.

Article navigation

• The page title and namespace appear at the top, along with an edit button.
• Edit sections only appears on level 2 headers.
• At the bottom, the avatars of the top 5 contributors appear.
• Categories are placed in the bottom, but unlike the desktop skin, you can only add new ones using the editor.

Editor

• FandomMobile uses Special:MobileVisualEditor as the editor.
  • The editor is similar to the usual mobile editor that appears on non-Fandom MediaWiki installations.

Why use FandomMobile

Advantages

• Mobile friendly interface.
• Easy to preview the mobile interface on a desktop computer.

Disadvantages

• Custom CSS/JS pages are not whitelisted so that only Fandom staff or other users with the edit-fandommobile-customizations right may edit the mobile CSS/JS.
• There are many more disruptive ads.
